Pokémon GO Fest 2025 Max Finale: How to Catch Eternatus and Gigantamax Pokémon

"Eternamax Eternatus and Gigantamax Pokémon in Pokémon GO Fest 2025 Max Finale battle scene"

Pokémon GO Fest 2025 Max Finale :

If you’re anything like me, the moment Niantic announced Pokémon GO Fest 2025 Max Finale, your heart started racing. Eternatus and  Gigantamax raids. A weekend packed with rare spawns.

It’s exciting… but it can also feel overwhelming. Don’t worry — I’ve been through plenty of GO Fests, and I’ll break it down so you can enjoy every moment without missing a thing.

What Is Pokémon GO Fest 2025 Max Finale?

This year’s Max Finale runs Saturday, August 23, and Sunday, August 24, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time.

It’s the big wrap-up to a week-long “Dark Skies” event starting August 18. Think of that first week as a warm-up — you’ll earn GO Points to level up your GO Pass: Max Finale.

And here’s the cool part: every Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon that’s ever been in Pokémon GO is returning. Missed one before? This is your shot.

Eternamax Eternatus with glowing cosmic energy in Pokémon GO

How to Catch Eternatus in Pokémon GO Fest 2025 Max Finale

Here’s the thing — you can’t catch Eternatus by just beating it in a Max Battle. The boss you fight is “Eternamax Eternatus,” and it’s not the one that goes in your Pokédex.

Instead, you get Eternatus as a GO Pass: Max Finale reward. Complete event tasks, rank up your pass, and it’s yours. Guaranteed.

Why battle it then? Easy — you’ll get Eternatus Candy and Candy XL. Lots of it. You’ll need that candy to power it up for PvP or raids.

Pro tip: If you want Eternatus ready for Master League fast, stockpile Rare Candy XL before the event.

Here’s Saturday’s lineup as an example:

  • 10 a.m. – Gigantamax Lapras

  • 11 a.m. – Gigantamax Snorlax

  • 12 p.m. – Gigantamax Gengar

  • 1 p.m. – Gigantamax Inteleon

  • 2 p.m. – Gigantamax Venusaur

  • 3 p.m. – Gigantamax Machamp

  • 4 p.m. – Gigantamax Toxtricity (Amped)

Plan ahead — some of these only appear for an hour.

My Top Tips for Pokémon GO Fest 2025 Max Finale

  1. Clear Storage First – You’ll be catching non-stop; don’t get caught with a full bag.
